With a staff of 150 at two production sites in France, the Alsatian company has acquired international renown and is present at the biggest construction sites in Europe. Rail Line Stuttgart-Ulm

Rail line Stuttgart-Ulm in Germany

The Boßler tunnel is being built as part of the major project “Stuttgart 21” in Germany, on the newly constructed line between Wendlingen and Ulm operated by Deutsche Bahn,  The Albaufstieg section of this project is the central section of the new 60 kilometer DB line between Wendlingen and Ulm. Between its starting point in Wendlingen, near Stuttgart, and Ulm, its destination, this line runs from North-West to South-East across the entire mountain chain of the Swabian Jura. The centerpiece of this section of the build is the two-tube Boßler tunnel and the two-tube Steinbühl tunnel.

The Boßler tunnel, with its two parallel single-track tubes, will have an overall length of 8806 meters. On 6 November 2016, after 18 months of uninterrupted mechanical tunneling, the breakthrough at the South portal of the Boßler tunnel was achieved.  SOTRALENTZ CONSTRUCTION is supplying about 900 tons of tubbing for the Boßler tunnel from October 2017 to probably January 2018. To manufacture the reinforcement cages, the Drulingen site will be producing about 40 rings a week.

Tunnel specialist supplies major projects in France

SOTRALENTZ CONSTRUCTION is the leading tunnel building specialist in Europe and it has established itself an outstanding reputation on this market. After the takeover by SÜLZLE Group, it has been able to further expand this market position. As an Alsace-based manufacturer of drawing mesh, SOTRALENTZ CONSTRUCTION has already supplied a broad range of tunnel steel.

For the major project “Tram line 2 in Nice”, SOTRALENTZ Construction supplied about 2470 tons of tubbing (lining segments) to Bouygues Travaux Publics between September 2015 and April 2017. The tram tunnel has a diameter of 8.50 meters and a total length of 2.64 kilometers. The new tram line 2 will link the East and West of Nice. About three kilometers of the line in downtown Nice run underground.

With the “Métro in Rennes” construction project, the total tonnage of tubbing was actually 6207 tons, supplied to Dodin Campenon Bernard between February 2014 and May 2017. The tunnel drilling machine worked around the clock at a depth of up to 25 meters, day after day, chewing its way through the substrate of the town of Rennes The tunnel diameter measures 8.3 meters and has an overall length of 8.07 kilometers. This, the second new subway line in Rennes, provides the town with a South-North connection with 15 stations.
